    Wao is a 2nd-class municipality in the Philippines. It is part of Lanao del Sur in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, located in Mindanao. It has a population of 50,366 as of the 2020 Census, and a land area of 485.24 square kilometers. It consists of 26 barangays. In the 2025 elections, the municipality has 35,606 registered voters.
