GORDON, WOW DICK (BVNP)

Richard Juico Gordon (born on August 5, 1945, in Castillejos, Zambales), popularly known as Dick, is a lawyer and politician. He is a senator of the Philippines since 2016. He also served as senator from 2004 to 2010.

Gordon first entered politics when he was elected mayor of Olongapo in Zambales in 1980, serving for two terms until 1986, and from 1988 to 1993.

In 1992, Gordon became the founding chairperson of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, serving until 1998. In 2001, he became the secretary of tourism under Gloria Macapagal Arroyo until his election in the Senate in 2004.

He ran and lost in the 2010 presidential elections, as well as the senatorial race in 2013.

Gordon is the chief executive officer and chairperson of the Philippine Red Cross.
